TRADITION - an established system of customs, patterns and norms passed down from generation to generation; tradition is associated with a stereotype, which gives rise to the problem of its relationship with innovations; in the process of development, old stereotypes are overcome and new ones are formed by recombining and modernizing the elements of tradition.
